How Far in Advance Should You Order Funeral Flowers?

Arranging a funeral involves a lot of decisions in a short time, and the flowers are often one of the last things on the list. Here is what you need to know about timing, so your tribute is ready for the day.

Ideally, about a week before

We recommend ordering funeral flowers about a week before the funeral. This gives your florist time to talk through ideas with you, source the right flowers and handcraft your tribute. Bespoke designs, such as personal tributes or letter tributes, especially benefit from a little extra time.

What if the funeral is sooner?

Please still call. Many florists, including us, can often help at short notice. The sooner you get in touch, the more options there are likely to be.

What to have ready when you call

  • The date and time of the funeral
  • The name and address of the funeral director or venue
  • The type of tribute you have in mind, if you know
  • Any colours, flowers or themes that meant something to your loved one
  • The message you would like on the card

Do not worry if you have not decided everything. Talking it through is part of the process, and we can help you choose.

Where are funeral flowers delivered?

Funeral flowers are usually delivered to the funeral director or venue before the service, so they can be placed with the coffin. We deliver free of charge to funeral homes and venues in Eastbourne, Polegate, Hailsham, Pevensey, Seaford and the surrounding area, and collection can be arranged if you prefer.
